For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”
Mark 10:45

As Jesus makes clear, his was a ministry of service. Consider that every waking moment down to his final cry on the cross; our Lord gave everything he had for us.  Mark records as does Matthew and Luke this extraordinary statement of purpose that Jesus makes. We see something similar in John’s gospel, (John 13:13-15) where Jesus makes it clear he has provided us an example we are to follow.  We should serve one another as he has served us.

It is with that in mind we introduce the following caption to the Spire. We all need to be involved in serving one another. Not for other’s sake or even for the church’s sake, though they are important reasons, but for our own sake. Serving one another is not only a privilege; frankly it is the only way for us to decrease and Christ to increase in our hearts.

So if you are not regularly active in service to our church and fellowship, I encourage you to give it a shot. Let’s work to find a level of commitment that works for you and a ministry you feel good about serving in.

We may not be around right now, but you can send us an email and we'll get back to you as soon as possible.
